The Garuda, a bird-like and humanoid creature, is a prominent figure in both Hinduism and Buddhism. It is known as the mount (vahana) of Lord Vishnu and is often depicted with a golden body, white face, red wings, and an eagle's beak. With a crown on its head, this ancient deity was believed to be massive, capable of blocking out the sun. Many use the Garuda statue as a protective charm against snake bites and poison, as this king of birds is known to be a fierce enemy and "devourer of serpents." The mantra Garudi Vidya is said to offer protection against snake poison and remove all kinds of evil.
